Using Usborne Books in the Homeschool
Are you looking for a quality publisher that has wonderful non-fiction living books that you can add to your home collection?
Usborne Publishing is the leading provider of colorful, children-friendly “teaching” picture books. While non-fiction learning is their main priority, they also provide many colorful fictional books, including classics, puzzles, games, and early reader books.
Popular “living book” curriculum providers, such as Sonlight, even use Usborne Book of World History as “base texts” for teaching. In the Well-Trained Mind, it is suggested to use the Usborne Book of World History for the first classical educational rotation as well.
All of their books are richly colored, vibrantly illustrated, and come in a fun, well designed layout. They are not a “christian” themed company so their prehistoric history texts follow a evolutionary approach - however, this is easily compensated for by presenting the creationist view alongside or leaving the sections out that discuss evolution.
