Converting Microsoft Word to PDF Free using CutePDF
I have been participating in Works for Me Wednesday’s over at Little Jack’s Corner since January, but this will be my first Works for Me Wednesday post here at my new blog! I thought I’d share a little something that would help you out if you homeschool and like making your own things.
You know how most documents passed out over the internet is done in Adobe PDF, right? Unfortunately, the actual Adobe software is really expensive. So what do you do if you want to share an image embedded document, but don’t want to grant rights for someone to edit it at will?
It’s easy!
Using a free little program called CutePDF writer, you will be given the capability of turning any document into a non-editible PDF. You can download CutePDF here. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and it’s amazingly simple.

Ok. Earlier today, I made a set of free Greek alphabet flashcards for visitors to HomeschoolFever.com to download. Since I do not have Adobe, I used Microsoft Word to create my flashcards. Then when I was through, I clicked on File > Print…
After clicking print, you’ll be taken to the usual printing panel.
Then, instead of choosing your regular physical printer, go to the drop down list and select Cute PDF Writer, and click “OK”.
After hitting OK, a dialog box will come up for you to “save” your file.
Select the appropriate folder you want to save your PDF in, and type the file name. I used greekalphabetnames.pdf for mine to make it easy to store for downloading!
Hit save, and POOF! There you have it. A fresh, non-editable PDF of your document.
Don’t have MS Word? That’s fine, because Cute PDF will convert any file that has the capability to print.
And that’s what works for me…

Hubby is into computers, and I read this to him having no clue if it would come in handy. He said it was very useful to know. Thanks!!
